We are excited to announce that beginning July 1, First Congregational Church will become the host site for a weekly Free Community Meal held every Wednesday evening.
In response to the ending of the long-standing meal ministry at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, churches, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and community volunteers are coming together to ensure this important community service continues without interruption. Through this collaborative effort, neighbors throughout our community will continue to find a warm meal, welcoming fellowship, and compassionate hospitality each week.
Unlike our Café Meal ministry, First Congregational will serve as the host location, while rotating teams from churches, businesses, civic organizations, nonprofit groups, and volunteers will prepare, sponsor, and serve the weekly meals.
This ministry depends on the generosity of community partners. There are two important ways you can help:
Sponsor a Meal
A sponsorship of $350 provides a complete Wednesday evening meal for approximately 125 guests. Sponsors will be recognized during their sponsored meal and will receive a tax-deductible donation receipt.
Volunteer a Team
Gather a team of 8–10 volunteers from your workplace, neighborhood, civic group, church, nonprofit organization, or group of friends. Volunteer teams provide hospitality, serve meals, and assist with cleanup from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM on Wednesdays.
