FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
First Congregational United Church of Christ Announces Opening of Community Family Pantry to Serve Dubuque Area Families
Dubuque, IA — First Congregational United Church of Christ, located at 255 W 10th Street in downtown Dubuque, is pleased to announce the opening of the Community Family Pantry, beginning March 2, 2026, in response to the closure of the Dubuque Community Schools Food Pantry and Clothes Closet previously located at the NICC downtown campus.
Recognizing the critical importance of this resource for children and families in the Dubuque community, First Congregational United Church of Christ took swift action to ensure continued access to food, clothing and basic necessities. With the recent completion of the church’s three-year building renovation project, the congregation is now better equipped to expand the use of its facilities and further assist the community in meaningful and practical ways. Located just a few blocks from the former pantry site, the church felt both called and positioned to meet this ongoing community need.
The Community Family Pantry will serve families in Dubuque and the surrounding communities. Participation is not limited to families with children enrolled in the Dubuque Community School District; families from other school districts and those who homeschool are also welcome.
The pantry will be open:
First Congregational United Church of Christ is a faith community rooted in service, hospitality, and justice, and remains committed to serving the Dubuque community with compassion, collaboration, and generosity by meeting the needs of its neighbors and strengthening community partnerships throughout the Dubuque area.
