Cherub Choir
The Cherub Choir is for young musicians ages 3-7. The group rehearses weekly on Wednesday evenings from 5:45-6:15 PM and at 8:50 AM before their monthly Sunday performance. The focus of the rehearsals is learning good vocal and choral technique, while incorporating musical and rhythmic games and activities. The Cherub Singers sing for Sunday services monthly from September through May.
Youth Choir
This choir is young musicians ages 8-16. The group rehearses weekly on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:00 PM and at 8:50 AM before their monthly Sunday performance. The Youth Choir perform for Sunday services monthly from September through May.
Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir is an adult, mixed choir that includes singers from a wide range of experience levels. The choir sings a varied, eclectic repertoire, from renaissance through contemporary, from serious choral styles, to arrangements of folk songs, spirituals, gospel music and even a pop tune here an there! The choir strives to concentrate on beauty of sound, diction, choral blend and the joy of making music together to the enhance the worship experience for all.
All who wish to join in the joy of singing with the 1st Congregational's Chancel Choir are welcome to become a member! The choir sings nearly every Sunday from September to June. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings from 7:30-8:30 PM in the 3rd Floor Music Room and on Sunday mornings before services.
Rhythm Ringers
This is a beginner bell group for new ringers. We will only play for church service ONE time at the end of the program year! This means that we spend quality time in rehearsals focusing on proper technique, counting rhythms, and learning how to read the music. This will be so beneficial for when they are ready to advance, and help make our Sonrise Ringers group even stronger in the future years to come!
Sonrise Ringers
This is the intermediate bell choir. The ensemble rehearses monthly from September through May and members often provide solo and small ensemble accompaniment to enhance our worship services. The ensemble rehearses from 5:45-6:30 PM Wednesday evenings and before their monthly Sunday performance.
Chancel Bells
This is the most advanced of the three Bell Choirs. Members of this ensemble either have experience ringing bells or are proficient sight readers. The ensemble rehearses monthly from September through May and members often provide solo and small ensemble accompaniment to enhance our worship services. The ensemble rehearses from 6:30 - 7:30 PM Wednesday evenings and before their monthly Sunday performance.
